Well, yesterday Julie, a friend from Aus, and her boyfriend and another friend came to Tokyo. They wanted to see Electric Town in Akiba, so we headed over there, but, well, unless you are into electronics its not really a great deal. So, from there we decided to head to Shibuya.
They all really loved Shibuya, but the thing that I really enjoyed is that we went to the Lockup. Man, it was soooo cool. The Lockup is a jail-themed japanese bar. Even just entering the place for the first time freaked me out. You head down to the basement, and its all rocky walls, dark and UV lighting.
Once you get inside, you are led to your own cell, with one of your party handcuffed to a jail warden in a PVC mini skirt. hehe. And you are locked into your ‘cell’. There are alot of themed cocktails that come in beakers or test tubes, which were fun. And some of the foods have a roulette style game – one of the pieces being super spicy. Super super spicy… Like, wow. Julie actually got the spicy takoyaki that we ordered, but silly me didnt believe her how spicy it was. OMG. burny burny!
And finally, about every hour they have a ‘show’ where the lights go off and some of the ‘inmates’ escape and come around to all the cells and terrorize the customers. That was a bit freaky, but lots of fun. I’ve got a video, but its pretty dark, sorry about that.
good fun
will go there again!
